Milestones with William
I went to the library today, and as I usually do, I went on William, my ebike. I’ve now ridden over 130 miles on him.
When I left at 5pm, it was dark, so I used my lights for the first time. A large part of my route is unlit cycle paths, and they were rather dark. My front light helped a little, but it isn’t bright enough to light the way very well, so I had to go slower than usual.
I also had my first accident. Not far from the library on the way home, I went to mount a pavement. It had a dropped pavement, but wasn’t flush with the road, and I hit it at an acute angle. The front wheel didn’t go up onto the pavement, rather it slipped off, and I fell.
A passer-by checked I was OK and helped me up. I only had minor scrapes and my chain had come off, but I soon got that back on and continued on my way.
